Washington DC, June 6th, 2009

dinner table
On Saturday June 6th, Guillaume de Castelnau, Manager of Chateau Des Jacques, led a special benefit wine tasting in Washington, DC while on a US tour with ‘Expressions d’Origine’ a consortium of the finest ‘Beaujolais crus’ producers.

During the event, the guests sampled from 16 different wines of the Beaujolais to benefit Clowns Without Borders!

“A good wine is a great with good taste, a great wine is a living wine”
-    Guillame de Castelnau

The event was held in an 1870 private residence in the historical Dupont Circle area. Also, to close the evening, a selection of bottles donated by the ‘Expressions d’Origine’ association were sold with the proceeds going to Clowns Without Borders.

The most entirely French winemaking region! One of the greatest pieces of emotional heritage for the French. Why are people so hard on it, perhaps as with a child you love? Because it touches our hearts through our art de vivre.”
-    Guillame de Castelnau

Thank you to Guillaume de Castelnau au to the ‘Expressions d‘Origine’ for sharing with us these delicious wines. Thanks also to Jean Sartre and Donald Conn, from Park Hyatt Washington, for lending us 100 glasses for the event.
