Haiti 2013: Trainings and Show Creation

Selena, Lucho, and Leah returned to partner with our friends at Terre des Hommes. Here are the on-the-road updates, stories, and photos from that project starting with a pre-tour word from Selena McMahan:

“CWB will be partnering with TDH-Terre des Hommes in Grand Goave for the 3rd time. I was part of the first CWB/TDH project in 2010, when we taught workshops, led trainings, and created a show with 20 children, 4 workshops leaders and 4 clowns from CWB.

This time we will be continuing with more trainings in clown character and circus skills to create a performance with 14 workshop leaders and 3 clowns from CWB. A tri-lingual team, speaking French, English, and Spanish. Working in Creole; Partnering with a Swiss non-profit and its Italian country director…This is going to be an almost entirely non-verbal, mimed, project!

At the end of our trainings and show creation, we will tour the show in the surrounding communities. It will be a packed and intense project and I hope that our clown team will leave these 14 workshop leaders with a show that they can continue to perform without us.”
