South Sudan 2014

South Sudan_2014_MichaelClowns Without Borders USA is excited to return to share laughter in South Sudan.  On 16 September we will be partnering with our friends at Clowns Without Borders South Africa and Terre des hommes (Tdh) to bring free workshops and performances to refugee and internally displaced persons (IDPs) around the Juba region.

South Sudan has faced many challenges in past years, a cholera outbreak, changing governments, violence and also independence.  To date, UNHCR estimates there are over 1/2 million refugees and IDPs living in South Sudan.  People from neighboring African countries like Ethiopia, the Democratic republic of Congo and Sudan have come to find refuge around South Sudan’s capital city, Juba.
