Clowns Without Borders Announces New Executive Director
New York, New York – Sept 30, 2024 – Clowns Without Borders (CWB)-USA is thrilled to announce the appointment of Jessica Franklin Thompkins (“Frankie”) as our new Executive Director. Frankie brings a wealth of experience and a deep commitment to our mission of relieving suffering through laughter and joy.
Frankie Thompkins is a seasoned leader with over 15 years of experience in both nonprofit and for-profit businesses. Frankie has spearheaded the Food Justice & Community Youth Service Programs at Advent NYC since 2004. Her strategic leadership in firms like KPMG and Escalon underscores her ability to inspire a shared sense of purpose.
“I believe joy is a universal right, and I’m honored to lead this incredible organization as we continue to spread moments of lightness and connection to those who need it most,” said Frankie. “Together, we’ll expand our reach and create lasting change.”
David Rosenthal, Chair of the Board, expressed his enthusiasm for the appointment: “Out of the large pool of incredible applicants and after a number of interviews, the Board found Frankie, someone who has a combination of warmth, empathy, and business skills to provide us with the leadership we were looking for to move us forward. Frankie is motivated, has a strong belief in our mission, and understands the importance of what we are doing.”
Frankie is eager to build upon this momentum and lead the organization toward even greater success.
Frankie’s passion for social justice and her belief in the power of laughter align perfectly with CWB’s mission. We are confident that her leadership will inspire our team and our supporters to continue our work of sharing laughter — both around the world and within US borders.
