Artists: Carlos Loarca, Betsie Miller-Kusz
In a project co-sponsored by Payasos Sin Fronteras, Casa Alianza and SOMAR Gallery, Carlos Loarca (SOMAR Gallery) and Betsie Miller-Kusz (Mural Resource Center) worked with street children in Guatemala City to create several murals in their neighborhoods. Traveling into Guatemala with acrylic paints and brushes, these muralists guided the children as they created drawings and then murals based on the drawings. This is the continuation of a long-term project between Payasos Sin Fronteras and Casa Alianza, Moviemento 48 Mundo and HORTEBE entitled “Superviventes de la Calle del Relleno.”
